Active Mail for Nokia 7610/6600 Publisher's Description

Active Mail is the ideal e-mail companion for the Nokia 7610/6600 , extending the messaging capabilities of the phone. Active Mail is an e-mail download manager, greatly increasing the ease of using the Nokia 7610/6600 as an e-mail client, increasing convenience and reducing costs by automatically downloading only those e-mails you are specifically interested in. With Active Mail and the Nokia 7610/6600 you are virtually always connected to your mailbox. Active Mail is available in English, Italian, German, Finnish, and French.

Benefits of Active Mail
Active Mail delivers a number of key benefits:

Convenience
Active Mail is designed to execute automated mail download and processing tasks in an unattended mode. Through Active Mail's scheduling capabilities and mail processing rules engine, you can configure Active Mail to download important e-mails and keep your mailbox as up to date as desired (for example, schedule updates every 15 minutes, or once per day).

Reduce Costs
With Active Mail you can be selective about the e-mails which are downloaded onto the Nokia 7610/6600 thus saving on valuable connection costs. Additionally, as tasks can be scheduled for off-peak periods you can take advantage of the lower costs available at these times.

Always connected for urgent e-mails
The Active Mail Notifications Manager allows you to automatically connect to your e-mail service. When a new mail notification (via SMS) is received on the phone, Active Mail will automatically download new e-mails based on the rules you have defined. In this way you are virtually always connected to your e-mail service for urgent e-mails.

Active Mail Features
Active Mail integrates a wide range of features which together deliver a functionally rich download manager ? greatly enhancing the messaging capabilities of the Nokia 7610/6600 phone. These features can be categorised into five key areas:

Mail retrieval scheduler
Active Mail enables you to schedule the download of e-mail using custom-defined schedules. For example, you can configure Active Mail to download e-mail every morning at 7:30am thus having your e-mail ready on your Nokia 6600 at the start of the day. Or configure Active Mail to check for new e-mail every 15mins, and always be up-to-date with the latest e-mail.

With the scheduler you have the option to define which components of the email will be downloaded (i.e. headers, message body, and attachments) depending on the size limit set by you. Additionally you can define more advanced rules to determine which emails are downloaded and which are automatically deleted (see Mail retrieval rules below).

Mail retrieval rules
Active Mail's retrieval rules are designed to emulate your decision making processing when manually deciding which e-mails to download. Rules can be defined to determine which e-mails are downloaded based on sender, subject, size, and priority. You can also define rules to automatically delete e-mails based on the same criteria, thus helping to manage spam.

The mail retrieval rules are applied no matter which of the Active Mail download options is employed (i.e. the scheduler, notification processing, or manual download).

SMS notifications processing
Many e-mail services provide a feature where you are notified by SMS when new e-mails are available in your inbox. Active Mail can process these notifications, and upon receipt of such a notification automatically connect to the e-mail service and download the new mail.

Marking mail headers for full retrieval
Often when you receive a large e-mail, you wish to have that email available locally on your device, but do not wish to take the time to manually download the email. The Active Mail message browser displays all e-mails which have not yet been fully downloaded. Through the browser you can mark those e-mails you wish to download the next time you checks your email (e.g. via the scheduler). Note: The Active Mail message browser displays the message size, so you can judge the potential time required to download an email.

Manual mail retrieval
In addition to the automated e-mail retrieval options previously described, Active Mail supports manual (interactive) download of e-mail. By using Active Mail to download e-mail in this way you can take advantage of the retrieval rules defined within Active Mail. Active mail also provides a command to download mail from all configured e-mail accounts, thus greatly decreasing the effort required to manage multiple e-mail accounts.
